Ultimately, the vision became to present Muslims who grew up in the western pop-culture environment, Superheroes who have wit, physical strength, intelligence, will power to control their temperaments, and would not hesitate to serve and protect their societies without unexaggerated flaws.

As a kid my friends and I read, passionately discussed, and collected comic books.

Superheroes were always grand protectors with high moral codes. They faced super villains (aka “bad guys”) who were shown with exaggerated evil features. Sometimes they looked like normal humans. Only when the hero probed the intentions of the villain did we see a sinister side to them. That made those villains the hardest villains to catch.

To my surprise, those type of villains were later seen yelling phrases from a foreign language – a language only few at the time were familiar with – they were phrases from Arabic. Those same exact phrases that were considered beautiful and meant to give inner peace now gave terror by being spoken on those super villains tongue.

Those comic books quickly became pop-culture and presented the beliefs of the villains as potential bad guys leaving so many who adhered to that faith (like me) with conflicted feelings.

So I started to pay more attention, superheroes were commonly people who stumbled upon godlike powers caused by mutation, a freak accident, or were aliens living amongst humans. A very narrow handful of heroes where natural humans who used technology, intellect, wit, and physical abilities. Those same human heroes were driven by arrogance, vengeance, or depression – traits that are typically not glorified.

So the ideals of Noon Comics started to fester in the back of my mind while I continued to grow and read more. I ended up reading a book called “Men Around the Messenger” and it solidified my thoughts of what a true super hero was supposed to look like.

Fifteen years later, I set out to create Noon Comics where the super heroes are able to control their will and produce tools that gives them pro-human abilities to fight off villains and make the world a better place.

Ultimately, the vision became to present Muslims who grew up in the western pop-culture environment, Superheroes who have wit, physical strength, intelligence, will power to control their temperaments, and would not hesitate to serve and protect their societies without unexaggerated flaws.
